The development of tourism relations between Kuwait and Azerbaijan was discussed

The development of tourism relations between Kuwait and Azerbaijan and increasing the number of mutual visits were discussed between Fuad Naghiyev, the Chairman of the State Tourism Agency and H.E. Abdullah Mohamed Abdullah Almowed , the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Azerbaijan on February 2.

At the meeting, Fuad Naghiyev stated that tourism relations between Azerbaijan and Kuwait were developing, that the number of citizens visiting our country from the State of Kuwait in 2022 was more than 22 thousand people, and he hoped that this number would increase further this year.

Fuad Naghiyev said that evaluating the tourism potential of Karabakh and developing it as a new tourist destination is one of the main tasks of the State Tourism Agency after the victory of our Glorious Army in the Patriotic War in 2020 under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief,. He drew attention to the presence of favorable environment for investment in Karabakh and other areas of the country with high tourism potential.

Noting the development of political relations that contributes to the expansion of tourism relations, the Ambassador H.E. Abdullah Mohamed Abdullah Almowed touched on the importance of strengthening cooperation not only bilaterally, but also within the framework of international organizations.
He said that the shared values between the two countries, the existence of a developed tourism infrastructure in our country, as well as the advantages of Azerbaijan as a safe and family tourism destination had an effect on the increase in the number of Kuwait citizens visiting the country.

At the meeting, opinions were exchanged on topics such as procedures that will facilitate travel to Azerbaijan, increasing the number of direct flights currently being performed, and organizing charter flights.

It should be noted that there are direct flights from Baku to Al-Kuwait via “Kuwait Airways” and “Jazeera Airways” 7 times a week. A simplified "e-visa" system is applied to Kuwaiti citizens to travel to Azerbaijan.
